Enhanced pronunciation training
Cantonese has nine tones (three open syllables and six checked syllables), making correct pronunciation particularly difficult for English speakers. Our teachers listen carefully to your child as they speak and identify how they can improve. They will then help them form the right mouth shape, tongue position and intonation. The more they speak and practice, the closer they will be to mastering Cantonese.
Home-school collaboration
Parental support is essential for helping your child master Cantonese. By showing your child how important it is, you will help keep their motivation high. After the lesson, our teachers will explain the content of the class and update you on your child's progress. We'll also suggest some activities you can do together. This will make the lessons more effective by reinforcing the work they have completed.
Customise your lesson plan
Your child's teacher will start by assessing your child's Cantonese proficiency. They will then create a suitable lesson plan and set challenging but achievable goals. You can get an idea of your child’s level of Cantonese by taking a look at the table on our Teaching page.
Form your own group

Flexible timetables
We know that each family is different. Choose the time and place that works for you and your family's schedule. If you are forming a study group, then we can work together to find a schedule that works for all families and the teacher.
The storybook project
In private classes, the teacher will work with your child to create their own stories. We will encourage them to sketch out a story based on their interests before adding details to create a unique story.
How proud your child will be when they read their own story they helped write! They'll feel like their dreams have come true!
